For your information: Schönes Hamburg means “Beautiful Hamburg”. It’s the name of our Guided Tours Company.
1. Do I need to make a reservation for the public tours?

2. How do I recognize the guide?
Your guide will be wearing a badge that displays the Schönes Hamburg logo. If you don’t see the badge, just look for someone at the appointed place who seems ready to lead a tour.
3. What are the tours like?
Very fun and informative. We’ll show you a combination of tried-and-true Hamburg landmarks and off-the-beaten-path sites.
4. How can I pay?
Either you book via our booking system on our website or pay cash at the beginning of the tour.
5. What if it rains?
We walk rain or shine. Our tours are outdoors, and our policy is, if guests are ready to walk, we will lead the tour.
We don’t have a snow or storm tide policy, but the last major storm tide in Hamburg was in the 1970s. So we’ll play that one by ear.
However: It’s safety first. If the weather causes the terrain to be unsafe, we may have to cancel the tour.
6. What if the guide does not show up?
We would like to say that this just does not happen.
However, guides can experience an emergency and not make it to the meeting point on time. If you experience a no-show situation, give us a call at +49 176 48 13 80 29 or send an email to mail@city-sightseeing.hamburg.
However this is not likely to happen.
7. Are tours strenuous?
Really no; walking in Hamburg involves no hills. We indicate in our tour descriptions those tours which are a bit more taxing. If you have mobility concerns, call us for more information: +49 176 48 13 80 29.
8. Can my (large) group join a Schönes Hamburg tour?
If you have a larger group that wants to join one of our regular tours we ask you to call ahead of time for pre-scheduling. If a group exceeds 20 people we provide a 2nd guide to better serve you. You can always book a private tour for your larger group. Call for details.
9. Are pets allowed?
Yes, but pets are prohibited by public law or private policy in some buildings included on our tours. However licensed service animals are an exception and will be allowed.
10. Do you give tours on holidays?
Schönes Hamburg runs a very limited schedule on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Please check our website for those dates and view the limited schedule.
11. What do tours cost?
Regularly scheduled Schönes Hamburg tours cost 20,00 Euro for adults, 15 Euro for students and 10,00 Euro for children.
12. How do I arrange for a private group tour?
Private tours are available for groups or organizations on demand. Please ask for the best price.
13. How can I become a City Guide?
We periodically hold a six-month course for new guides at enrollement cost. You’ll attend a series of Saturday talks by pundits on Hamburg history and receive coaching on tour presentation.
